Milan, 1 April. (LaPresse) – "Israeli military operations in Lebanon and Hezbollah attacks must cease. We urge Israel to fully respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Lebanon and call on all parties, both Hezbollah and Israel, to stop military actions." This is what 15 countries write in a joint note, including Italy: Belgium, Croatia, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Italy, Ireland, Latvia, Luxembourg, Moldova, Norway, Poland, San Marino, Spain and Sweden. "We strongly condemn Hezbollah's decision to attack Israel in support of Iran. Hezbollah must immediately cease all hostile actions against Israel and disarm, in accordance with the relevant resolutions of the United Nations Security Council", reads the note, "we recall Israel's obligation to fully respect international humanitarian law, including the principles of distinction, proportionality and precaution, and we underline the importance of the protection of civilians and civilian objects. Attacks against civilians, healthcare personnel, humanitarian workers, journalists, civilian infrastructure and facilities are unjustified and unacceptable.
