Rome, 11 April (LaPresse) – On Sunday, Peruvian voters will go to the polls for an election featuring a record number of candidates – over 30. Around 27 million voters are eligible to cast their ballots. Conservative leader Keiko Fujimori is leading in the pre-election polls, but none of the candidates is anywhere near the 50% threshold required to win in the first round. It is therefore almost certain that there will be a run-off scheduled for 7 June.
