This was stated by Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, as reported by Tass. Easter is a sacred holiday for both Russians and Ukrainians, so the Easter truce is undoubtedly a humanitarian gesture on the part of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Peskov said. “This is a humanitarian gesture on the part of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, the President of the Russian Federation.
