Iran, Beijing: ‘Maintain freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz’

Maintaining security, stability and freedom of passage in the region serves the common interests of the international community.’ This was stated by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun at a press conference. ‘The main cause of disruptions to navigation in the Strait of Hormuz lies in the conflict involving Iran, and the way to resolve this issue is to reach a ceasefire and end hostilities as soon as possible,’ he added, ‘all parties should remain calm and exercise restraint.
