Iran, Pezeshkian: "We exercise self-defense, Trump cannot deny the rights of a people"

Tehran, Apr 19 (LaPresse) – "Our fundamental position is based on maintaining peace, stability and security in the region" and "we do not seek to expand the circle of war, we have not started wars or conflicts and we have not attacked any country," moreover "we do not intend to attack any country and we are exercising our legal and legitimate right to self-defense." This was stated by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, quoted by Al Jazeera. According to Pezeshkian, "Trump does not have the right to deny the rights of a people and to claim that Iran cannot benefit from its nuclear program." The Iranian president also stressed that "the enemy has not managed to achieve its objectives, has violated international law and has attacked infrastructure, schools and hospitals. The enemy’s statements regarding the destruction of our civilization and the return of Iran to the stone age reveal the intentions and objectives of the aggressors."
