Washington (USA), Apr 19 (LaPresse) – This week US President Donald Trump will take part in a public reading of the Bible, as part of the process of integrating religion, particularly Christianity, into the official activities of the administration. "On April 21, President Trump will read the Holy Scriptures via a video message from the Oval Office at 18:00," reads a press release from the organizers of the event titled 'America Reads the Bible'. CNN reports this, noting that Trump’s participation in the reading, which will last all week, is particularly significant given his recent dispute with Pope Leo XIV over the conflict with Iran and the controversy sparked earlier this week by the publication – and subsequent deletion – of an AI-generated image depicting him as Jesus. According to reports, Trump will read a passage from 2 Chronicles 7:11-22, which includes the often-cited verse 14: "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves, pray, seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin and heal their land."
