Rome, 8 May (LaPresse) – Russian air defence systems intercepted and destroyed 264 Ukrainian drones overnight over Russian regions, the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea. This was reported by the Russian Ministry of Defence, according to the Tass news agency. “On 8 May 2026, between midnight and 07:00 Moscow time, air defence warning systems intercepted and destroyed 264 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones over the regions of Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Kaluga, Kursk, Lipetsk, Rostov, Ryazan, Smolensk, Tula, Ulyanovsk and Yaroslavl, over the Krasnodar Territory, the Republic of Crimea, the Republic of Tatarstan, the Moscow Region and the waters of the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea," the Ministry of Defence reported
