Middle East: Agreement reached in Brussels on sanctions against violent Israeli settlers

Brussels, 11 May (LaPresse) – According to reports from Brussels, a political agreement has been reached between the foreign ministers of the 27 member states, during the Foreign Affairs Council meeting, on sanctions against violent Israeli settlers in the West Bank as well as certain Hamas figures. The Hungarian veto, which had previously prevented progress on this issue due to the requirement for unanimity, has thus been overcome.
