Rome, May 22 (LaPresse) – The Eliso premises were searched as part of a judicial investigation into the awarding of certain public contracts related to the organization of ceremonies at the Pantheon by the Centre des Monuments Nationaux (CMN). BfmTv reports this, noting that the operations were preceded by “institutional exchanges” with the French presidency. On April 14—the French media further explain—investigators and magistrates from the National Financial Prosecutor’s Office were denied access to the presidential palace during their first attempt to search the premises, as Article 67 of the Constitution “guarantees the inviolability of the premises attached to the Presidency of the Republic.” The last search of the presidential palace took place in 2018, as part of the Benalla case, during Emmanuel Macron’s first term.
