Kyiv (Ukraine), 24 May (LaPresse/AP) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that Russia used the powerful Oreshnik hypersonic ballistic missile during a massive drone and missile attack on Kyiv. This is the third time the weapon has been deployed in four years of war. The Oreshnik, capable of carrying nuclear or conventional warheads, struck the city of Bila Tserkva in the Kyiv region, Zelensky said in a post on Telegram, noting that it is currently unclear what the target was. Russia first used the multi-warhead Oreshnik on the Ukrainian city of Dnipro in November 2024. It was used a second time in January in the western region of Lviv.
