Milan, 26 May (LaPresse) – This morning, a train collided with a school bus at a level crossing in Buggenhout, Belgium. The news has been confirmed by the rail network operator Infrabel. According to reliable sources cited by Le Soir, several people lost their lives in the collision, which occurred at around 8.15 am in East Flanders. The circumstances of the accident are still under investigation, but initial reports suggest that the level crossing was closed at the time of the collision. No injuries were reported on board the train, but the emergency services were called out after being alerted to the presence of casualties on the school bus. According to Belgium’s Federal Minister for Mobility, Jean-Luc Crucke, two children aged 12 and 15, the bus driver and a supervisor lost their lives.
