Lebanon, Aoun: ‘IDF raid on our soldiers is a flagrant violation of sovereignty’

Rome, 6 June (LaPresse) – The President of the Lebanese Republic, Joseph Aoun, has ‘strongly condemned’ the Israeli attack this morning that targeted a Lebanese army patrol on the Khardali-Nabatieh road, in which two officers and one soldier were killed. President Aoun described the attack as ‘a flagrant violation of Lebanese sovereignty and of international laws and norms, which forms part of the ongoing escalation threatening stability and security in the South, despite the efforts Lebanon is making in the Washington negotiations to put an end to the continuous Israeli attacks without deterrence’. President Aoun called on the international community “to assume its responsibilities and put an end to these repeated attacks, ensuring compliance with the relevant international resolutions, so as to preserve Lebanon’s security and stability”.
