Rome, 17 April (LaPresse) – ‘For the 50th anniversary of the start of my career, I want to throw a different kind of party, for many more people… over 500,000… and one that lasts longer than a single night. We’re looking for a venue.’ Vasco Rossi wrote this on Instagram in a post about Modena Park in 2017. ‘The legendary world record at Modena Park was a unique and unrepeatable event,’ he writes. "Given the times we were living in… the fear of large gatherings… the attacks… A week before the massacre in Turin’s Piazza. The idea of gathering over 230,000 people in one place was madness… a challenge… inadvisable… Very risky… … and what if something had gone wrong? What if someone had got hurt? All it would have taken was some idiot with a bit of tear gas and it would have been a disaster. Everything went well. My people showed extraordinary maturity. Generations of wild ones, yes, but with their heads screwed on right.‘ The rocker from Emilia then recalls the ’massive security measures, incredibly complicated and exhausting… …to describe them as extraordinary would be an understatement. My people went through all that ordeal just to be there. To be part of the legendary world record at Modena Park. Don’t ask me to do it again… For the 50th anniversary of the start of the story… I want to throw a different kind of party… for many more people… over 500,000… and one that lasts longer than a single night."
