Rome, May 4 (LaPresse) – The results of Italian tennis confirm “what was already understood the first time, namely that the first victory in the Davis Cup and the Billie Jean King Cup was not an episode, not a flash in the pan, but the result of a condition that sees Italian tennis as a leading force in the world,” said President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella during his meeting at the Quirinale with the Italian men’s and women’s national tennis teams, winners of the 2025 Billie Jean King Cup and the 2025 Davis Cup. “This is now a consolidated condition,” he continued. “Of course, there is not only Italian tennis, there are others too, fortunately I would add, and not only Spain. This helps, because it prevents self-satisfaction and allows us to always feel new stimuli, to improve, to continue, and to face new commitments and new challenges.”
