Rome, May 12 (LaPresse) – “First of all, I’d like to know if the government is ready to do something for citizens in a country where utility bills keep rising and wages are stagnating. People, families, and businesses are struggling, and the right wing is preoccupied with electoral reform.” Nicola Fratoianni of AVS made this statement while speaking to reporters in Piazza Montecitorio. “Second: I really don’t think the conditions are right,” the Red-Green leader continued, "because they continue to keep the elimination of runoffs in municipal elections on the table, and this is unacceptable; they keep the prime minister’s nomination in the program on the table; and they keep the office of prime minister on the table, as well as a disproportionate majority bonus. It therefore seems to me—concludes Fratoianni—that the conditions simply do not exist, for both general and substantive reasons, to open a dialogue."
