Milano, Apr 21 (LaPresse) – Chicago Bulls coach Billy Donovan has resigned after six seasons, preferring to step aside rather than work with a new front office. President and CEO Michael Reinsdorf, after firing executive vice president of basketball operations Arturas Karnisovas and general manager Marc Eversley toward the end of the season, had made it clear that he wanted Donovan to remain in his position. He had stated that anyone who wanted to bring in a new coach "was probably not the right candidate for us." Now, it appears that whoever the Bulls hire to lead their organization will have that opportunity. The 60-year-old Donovan had always said he still had a passion for coaching and that he would meet with ownership after the season to discuss his future. Apparently, he did not hear what he wanted to hear.
