While the media narrative constantly fuels conflicts – and yes, there have been and will be real disagreements – reality is often much more complex." This was written on X by US Vice President JD Vance, sharing a video in which the pontiff speaks of a "narrative that has not been accurate in all its aspects" regarding differences of views with US President Donald Trump. Yesterday, Leo XIV said that "it is not at all in my interest" to debate with Trump. "Pope Leo," Vance added, "preaches the Gospel, as is right, and this inevitably means he offers his opinions on moral issues of the moment. The President – and the entire administration – strive to apply these moral principles in a chaotic world. He will be in our prayers, and I hope we will be in his."
