Milan, 22 April (LaPresse/AP) – A man has told police that he is the owner of the gun with which Shamar Elkins killed eight children, including seven of his own, in Louisiana, USA, after stealing it from his van. The man, Charles Ford, told investigators he suspected Elkins because he was one of the few people travelling with him. Ford added that he realised the gun was missing around 9 March and said he had confronted Elkins about the missing weapon. But when Elkins became “aggressive”, Ford “let it go”. The man is himself charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm and making a false statement to federal agents. He had initially denied owning the gun when first approached by investigators following Sunday’s shooting.
