Madrid (Spain), 23 April (LaPresse) – Miguel Garikoitz Aspiazu, known as Txeroki, who was the head of ETA’s military wing until his arrest in 2008, has asked for forgiveness from the victims of terrorism in a handwritten letter, acknowledging the harm caused by the crimes he committed. The news, reported by the Spanish media, came after the Spanish National Court granted Txeroki a six-day leave of absence, which has sparked controversy in Spain. The letter written by the former ETA member was also a decisive factor in the granting of the leave. Txeroki expressed regret for the harm caused by the group to all victims ‘without exception’.
