Yerevan (Armenia), May 4 (LaPresse) – "Yes, there has been some disappointment from the United States, but the Europeans have listened." This was said by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte upon arriving at the EPC summit in Yerevan, regarding the lack of involvement, according to US President Donald Trump, of European states in the American intervention in Iran. European countries have "understood the message" from Trump, Rutte added, and "are ensuring that agreements on the use of US military bases are respected." Rutte also said that "increasingly" European nations are pre-positioning assets such as minehunters and minesweepers near the Gulf to be ready for a "next phase."
