Brussels, 4 May (LaPresse) – ‘Russia’s war against Ukraine and Europe continues with the same ferocity as before, and this summer will be the moment when Putin decides what to do: extend the war or turn to diplomacy. We must push him towards the diplomatic path’ . This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in his address at the meeting of the European Political Community in Yerevan, Armenia. ‘Russia,’ he added, "has announced a parade in Moscow on 9 May without military equipment. If this happens, it will be the first time in many, many years. They cannot afford the military equipment and fear that drones might fly over Red Square. This is significant. It shows that they are not strong right now. So we must continue to apply pressure through sanctions.‘ Zelensky then thanked EU leaders for the 20th package of sanctions against Russia and ’in particular for the sanctions against Russian oil, the military industry and Russian banks. We must continue to apply this pressure. We must push Russia towards diplomacy."
