Milan, 6 May (LaPresse) – ‘As of today, we can confirm that the Russian side has violated the ceasefire. Based on the evening reports from our armed forces and intelligence services, we will decide on our next steps.’ This is what Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky wrote in a social media post. "Following yesterday’s ferocious attacks on our cities and communities – Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Kramatorsk and others – the Russian army has continued to carry out active hostilities and terrorist bombardments throughout the day as well. Russia’s actions represent a clear rejection of the ceasefire and the protection of human life,” the post reads, “attacks are continuing across all key sectors of the front line and, since the start of today alone, the Russian army has already launched nearly 30 assaults. Overnight and this morning alone, more than 20 air strikes were recorded, involving the use of over 70 aerial bombs.” ‘During the night, the Russian army also launched attacks using various types of drones,’ Zelensky added, "in particular, the Ukrainian Defence Forces alone neutralised nearly 90 attack drones. There were also missile strikes. In total, by 10 am, the Russian army had committed 1,820 violations of the ceasefire – shelling, attempted assaults, air strikes and the use of drones."
