Rome, May 9 (LaPresse) – Iran’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Amir Saeed Iravani, said yesterday that recent U.S. measures are “hostile and provocative,” warning of “catastrophic consequences” in the Strait of Hormuz. Speaking to journalists, Iravani stated that recent U.S. actions constitute “hostile and provocative behavior,” noting that U.S. President Donald Trump had publicly acknowledged these measures. He stressed that Iran retains its full right to self-defense under the United Nations Charter and will take “all necessary measures” to protect its sovereignty and national interests. The Iranian envoy warned that continued U.S. activity in the Strait of Hormuz could lead to “catastrophic consequences” not only for the region, but also with broader international repercussions.
