Milan, 9 May (LaPresse) – ‘We must act on the message voters have sent us and break with the status quo once and for all. We must tackle the major challenges facing the public with concrete solutions. That is how we will bring about the change people so desperately need and build a stronger, fairer country.’ This is what Prime Minister Keir Starmer wrote in a post on social media platform X, accompanying an article he wrote in The Guardian entitled ‘These election results do not mean veering left or right, but delivering results for the whole country’. In the local elections held on Thursday, Labour suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of Reform UK and the Greens.
