Milan, May 13 (LaPresse) – "This evening I had a very fruitful and wide-ranging conversation with my friend, Italian President Mattarella." This is what Israeli President Isaac Herzog announced in a post on social media X. "We exchanged views on recent developments in the region," the post reads, "during our discussion, I expressed my concern about the extreme hostility towards Israel —and at times anti-Semitic — that has emerged in some sectors of Italian public opinion, as demonstrated by the ongoing harassment of the Israeli pavilion at the Venice Biennale, as well as the protests against the raising of the Jewish Brigade flags in Milan." "I thanked President Mattarella and the Italian authorities for their principled position in condemning these attacks and for their efforts to prevent them," Herzog concluded.
