Rome, 16 May (LaPresse) – Russian President Vladimir Putin is to pay an official visit to the People’s Republic of China from 19 to 20 May. The Kremlin announced the news, stating that the visit is taking place at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping. During the meeting, the Kremlin stated, as quoted by TASS, Putin and Xi will discuss issues relating to bilateral relations, “ways to further deepen the partnership” and “exchange views on key international and regional issues”. Following the talks between Putin and Xi, a high-level joint statement and a number of bilateral intergovernmental, inter-departmental and other documents are expected to be signed, the Kremlin said. The visit’s programme also includes a meeting with Premier Li Qiang, during which prospects for trade and economic cooperation will be discussed.
