Rome, 16 May (LaPresse) – In the NBA play-offs, the San Antonio Spurs have joined the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference final, whilst in the Eastern Conference the series between the Detroit Pistons and the Cleveland Cavaliers is still to be decided, with the score now 3-3. The Spurs secured a resounding 109-139 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves, closing out the series 4-2. Stephon Castle scored 32 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, De’Aaron Fox had 21, and Victor Wembanyama added 19. For the Timberwolves, Anthony Edwards scored 24, Terrence Shannon contributed 21 off the bench, and Naz Reid added 18. The Pistons triumphed in Cleveland with a 94-115 win thanks to a superb second half, and in particular a 19-30 third quarter. Cade Cunningham scored 21 points, Paul Reed 17 and Duncan Robinson 14, neither of whom were in the starting five. For the Cavs, James Harden scored 23, whilst Donovan Mitchell and Evan Mobley each added 18.
