Rome, May 16 (LaPresse) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced a telephone conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron. "We have addressed numerous issues, and I am grateful for coordination in all areas. I thanked Emmanuel for his strong condemnation of Russian attacks on our cities and communities. These attacks clearly demonstrate who Russia is and why we all need to strengthen our collective defense against any threat," he added. "France is ready to work on anti-missile capabilities. This is a strong decision and an important step. We also discussed how to enhance our ability to repel Russian attacks early on. Thank you for your willingness to strengthen our air defense," the Kiev leader explained. "We also discussed the European path and the opening of all negotiating groups in the near future. France supports Ukraine and understands how important this step is for all Ukrainians. Emmanuel informed me of his visit to some African countries. We stressed the importance of joint coordination in this area, which is equally important for Ukraine. We have agreed on our contacts in the near future," he concluded.
