Rome, 20 May (LaPresse) – ‘A deal is a deal, and the EU honours its commitments. I welcome the agreement reached by the European Parliament and the Council on reducing tariffs on US industrial exports to the EU. This means that we will soon fulfil our part of the EU-US Joint Statement, as promised.’ European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen wrote this on X. ‘I now call on the co-legislators to act swiftly and finalise the process. Together, we can ensure stable, predictable, balanced and mutually beneficial transatlantic trade,’ she concluded.
