Madrid (Spain), 26 May (LaPresse) – Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has reported on social media that he is travelling to Rome and has praised Pope Leo XIV’s encyclical on AI. “Travelling to Rome and towards the meeting with the Pope, with a shared conviction: either we put progress at the service of people, or the future will be a condemnation for entire generations. Leo XIV’s encyclical ‘Magnifica Humanitas’ calls on us all. Artificial intelligence is not neutral, and digital power can lead us to new atrocities if it is not directed towards the common good,” wrote the socialist leader on X, noting that “the text is also a defence of peace, human dignity and multilateralism”. ‘Spain is aware of this: at this time of change, we cannot simply stand by and watch with resignation. Everything that makes us human is at stake,’ concluded Sánchez.
