Rome, 7 June (LaPresse) – "The Christ who passes through the streets in the monstrance is the same one who identifies with the poor, the sick, the lonely and the marginalised. It is no coincidence that here in Spain, the Church has for years combined the Solemnity of Corpus Christi with Charity Day. It is not merely a matter of taking an ostensory out into the streets, but of allowing ourselves to be led out of selfishness, indifference and a comfortable, private faith, in order to respond to his call to conversion, to change our outlook, welcoming his presence which transforms us and makes us builders of a new world." So said Pope Leo XIV in Plaza Cibeles, Madrid, during the celebration of Mass on the Solemnity of Corpus Christi.
