Milan, 14 June (LaPresse) – “This morning’s attack in Beirut should never have happened, especially on such a special day when we are so close to a peace deal with Iran.” This is what US President Donald Trump wrote in a post on the social media platform Truth. ‘Israel has the right to defend itself against threats, but the attack it was responding to was very limited and insignificant,’ he added, "no one was injured or killed, and this should not jeopardise this important process. We are very close to an agreement that will bring peace to the region, including Lebanon, and all parties should take a step back. There should be no more attacks by Israel in any part of Lebanon, but there should also be no more attacks by any other group, including Hezbollah, against Israel. This could be the start of a long and wonderful peace — let’s not ruin it!”
