Fermo, June 6 (LaPresse) – The death toll from the collapse of a residential building in Porto Sant’Elpidio, in the province of Fermo, has risen to three. The collapse was likely caused by an explosion linked to a gas leak, which also left two people injured. Firefighters have located and recovered the body of 89-year-old Ettorina Paccapelo, who had been trapped under the rubble for hours after the building collapsed. Her 60-year-old son, Romano Cerquetti, who had been pulled out alive and hospitalized in serious condition at the Torrette Hospital in Ancona, later died. Among the victims is also 47-year-old Giuseppe Pieroni, while the other two elderly people involved in the collapse remain hospitalized.
