Monte Carlo, June 6 (LaPresse) – A brilliant Kimi Antonelli will start from pole position at the Monaco Grand Prix, part of the Formula 1 World Championship. The 19-year-old Mercedes driver, championship leader, set the fastest time in qualifying with a sensational 1:12.051. Alongside him on the front row is an aggressive Max Verstappen, second in his Red Bull at +0.043 seconds. Some disappointment for Ferrari, which will have to settle for the second row with Lewis Hamilton third at +0.228 and Charles Leclerc fourth at +0.300. George Russell in the other Mercedes is only fifth at +0.394, while the McLarens of Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris could do no better than seventh and eighth. For Antonelli, his fourth career pole, this is only the second pole position by an Italian driver in Monaco after Jarno Trulli in 2004.
