Rome, 20 April (LaPresse) – Steps are being taken to repeal the provision offering a €615 incentive to lawyers handling voluntary repatriation cases, should their clients choose to return to their respective countries. This, according to reports, is the proposal on which the majority is working following the meeting between the Undersecretary to the Prime Minister, Alfredo Mantovano, and the Head of State, Sergio Mattarella, regarding the Security Decree. The government has, in fact, taken note of the Quirinale’s opposition to amending the text by including it on the agenda, so as not to alter the decree during this reading but in a subsequent measure. If, however, the deletion amendment is adopted, the decree – which must be converted by 25 April or it will lapse – will have to return to the Senate for a third reading.
