Rome, May 25 (LaPresse) – “Overall, the results confirm the good outcomes in Tuscany, with first-round victories in Prato and Pistoia, and in Emilia-Romagna. Positive results are also being recorded in Campania, starting with Avellino, and in Puglia with the clear reconfirmation of Andria, with high percentages as in Mantua. Taken as a whole, although with all the specificities of a local vote, this result confirms that when we are united as a progressive camp we are competitive, and we will also be so in the next general elections. In Veneto, in Venice, we knew it would not be easy after 11 years of right-wing government, and the unity of a broad centre-left coalition was not enough to win. However, I still want to thank Andrea Martella for his united effort and commitment during the campaign. Best wishes and good work to the new mayors and councillors elected across Italy.” So said Democratic Party secretary Elly Schlein.
