Venice, May 25 (LaPresse) – The counting of actual votes confirms what had already been indicated by exit polls and projections: Venice mayoral candidate Simone Venturini is heading toward a first-round victory. With 156 out of 256 polling stations counted, Venturini stands at 52.85%, compared to 37.68% for his main challenger Andrea Martella, supported by the broad centre-left coalition. These figures are also higher than the latest Opinio Rai projections, which had given Venturini at 50.7%.
