Milan, 17 May (LaPresse) – Fabio Di Giannantonio, riding a Ducati for Team VR46, has won the Catalan Grand Prix, a round of the MotoGP World Championship. The Roman rider, after a race of comebacks, crossed the line ahead of the two Spaniards, Joan Mir on a Honda and Fermin Aldeguer on another Ducati from Team Gresini. Fourth place went to Japan’s Ai Ogura on an Aprilia Trackhouse, ahead of Pecco Bagnaia’s factory Ducati and Marco Bezzecchi’s Aprilia. The rider from Rimini remains firmly in the lead of the World Championship with 139 points, ahead of his team-mate Jorge Martin (18th today) on 127 and Di Giannantonio on 116. The race was interrupted by two red flags following a series of crashes involving Alex Marquez and Johann Zarco, both of whom were taken to hospital.
