Milan, 20 Apr. (LaPresse) – The Japan Meteorological Agency has issued a tsunami warning for Iwate Prefecture and parts of Hokkaido and Aomori, following the 7.4-magnitude earthquake that struck the north of the country. Tsunami waves up to 3 metres high are expected, according to Japanese broadcaster NHK. A tsunami warning has been issued for the prefectures of Hokkaido, Aomori, Miyagi and Fukushima. In these areas, the water could reach a maximum height of 1 metre.
