Turin, 25 May (LaPresse) – In recent days, a Royal Air Force (RAF) jet carrying Defence Minister John Healey experienced GPS signal interference whilst flying over the Russian border area. This was reported by the BBC. Healey was returning to the UK after visiting British troops in Estonia when the incident occurred, as first reported by The Times. Russia is believed to be responsible for the attack, which forced the pilots to use a different navigation system, as the aircraft’s GPS was disabled during the three-hour flight. The incident occurred the day after reports emerged that two Russian fighter jets had ‘repeatedly and dangerously’ intercepted a RAF spy plane over the Black Sea last month. It is not known whether Healey was intentionally targeted, but the publication reported that the flight path was visible on flight-tracking websites.
