Milan, 12 May (LaPresse) – Hansi Flick confirmed at a press conference that he has reached an agreement to extend his contract with Barcelona until 2028, with an option for a further season. “I’m very happy, both for myself and because I’ve given the team the confidence they need to keep working for another year or two. Many managers would be happy with a three-, four- or five-year contract, but in this case, at Barça, it’s right to limit the duration, and I appreciate that,” said the German manager. “We’ll carry on until 2028 and see; if everything goes well, we’ll decide whether to stay for another year. The club has the right to do so, I have the right to do so, and it’s a good deal,” he added. Flick then reiterated his great ambition: “Everyone has that incredible dream of winning the Champions League. We’ll try again, and that’s all I can say. I’m grateful for the trust they’ve placed in me to work here for many more years.”
