Rome, 8 May (LaPresse) – Last night’s attacks in Ukraine “clearly show that, on the Russian side, there has not even been a token attempt at a ceasefire on the front line. Just as we have done over the past 24 hours, Ukraine will respond in the same way today. We will defend our positions and the lives of our people. Russia must end its war, and everyone will truly see when the move towards peace begins. Glory to Ukraine!" Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy wrote this on social media whilst the truce announced by Russia to mark the anniversary of victory in the Second World War is in effect.
