Milan, 9 May (LaPresse) – The neo-Nazi march that the far-right group “Comité du 9 Mai” (Committee of 9 May) (C9M) intended to organise for today in Paris has been definitively banned, with no possibility of appeal. The Council of State, France’s highest administrative court, has rejected the appeal lodged yesterday by the C9M against the ruling of the Paris Administrative Court. This was reported by the broadcaster Bfmtv. The C9M has been uniting the French far right for over 30 years and had planned to pay tribute today to Sébastien Deyzieu, a 22-year-old nationalist activist, considered a ‘martyr’ after he died falling from a building on 7 May 1994 during a police chase. The ruling highlighted that Nazi salutes had been made during last year’s march and that the risk of clashes with anti-fascist activists was high.
